This Lunar New Year, Isetan embraces and restyles the quintessential Qipao/Cheongsam with a beautiful step into the next decade. Fashion inspiration for this festive collection is presented in a time capsule between the romantic cinema ‘In The Mood For Love’and early 1950s Malaya. 



Key looks are the festive floral prints and embroidery, in retro-tradition and new silhouettes, for both men and women. Our selections include sartorial ensembles for formal festive functions and restyled smart casual outfits for family gatherings.

The most popular outfit would be the Qipao or better known as Cheongsam. Introduced in 1920s China, the Qipao or Cheongsam is a dress form that has evolved from the imperial robe and incorporated with western tailoring techniques. Qipao is a symbol of modernity with the freedom of movement which associated with chemise and the flappers, as being a symbol of liberation.
