Pink Ribbon Campaign is a worldwide health campaign, dedicated throughout the month of October. Better recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month or Pink October, it is dedicated to helping increase attention & support for awareness, early detection, and finding a cure. The campaign is represented by a pink ribbon symbol and pink merchandises of which a small portion of the total cost is donated to a Breast Cancer Foundation and Research.
In support of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month and also October 2020 marking Isetan Kuala Lumpur’s 30th Anniversary, we have collaborated with the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA) in creating exclusive merchandise in store to raise funds on 9th October to 2nd November 2020.
Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA) was founded in 1986 by medical specialists, who realised the need for peer support for women with breast cancer. It is a tax-exempt organisation registered with the Registrar of Societies Malaysia in 1988, and a member of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and Reach to Recovery International (RRI).
The ribbon and merchandise sold in the campaign identify the individual expressing moral support for women with breast cancer. Breast diseases are very common, most of us would have come across a friend, a work colleague, or a family member who has been affected by the disease.
80% of the profits from the sale of each set will be channeled to BCWA to continue their mission to improve the quality of life for women with breast cancer and create a well-informed society. Each set comes with an exclusively designed linen face mask, hair accessory, and a lapel pink for you to wear with pride and to stay safe during these unprecedented times.
